This was so simple to fix, but I can't believe how long it took me to find the answer.
My archive links wouldn't work on my WordPress installation.
- The archive page was fine and visibile -- but when I clicked on a month, it would take me back to my home page.
- The archive widget was also there -- but, again, if I clicked on a month, I got taken back to my home page.
- And my date filters wouldn't work on the post admin panel, either. Every time I tried to filter my postings by date, I was brought back to the main post admin screen.
Loop-de-loop!
Here was my fix.
I had installed the Robots Meta plugin. The plugin is great and works well, but I had disabled the date-based archives (and author-based archives) in the configuration panel. Unchecking those boxes gave me back full access to my archives and using the filters on the post admin panel.
A simple decision that had major repercussions. But a simple fix.
Now I hope that I've saved you all the trouble I went through.

I haven\'t had this particular problem, but have encountered WordPress problems that I finally found solutions for. One problem, WP drag and drop not working, is solved with Google Libraries. If we all help one another when we find answers, WordPress will upgrade and we can start again.
Thanks for sharing such a valuable information.
I think it will become common on most sites. I am glad google added it but i would like local trends also. i think they shoud also the search trends from google search and other internt site.
It definitly is and I can see how to really put it to good use, however, the rate at which people singed up with it was new would have lead me to think it would be much more popular and talked about amongst non-tech people by now. I think after people realised it didnt have a direct result on the serp pages they lost a little interest.
Thanks so much for this. It was driving me crazy! I had disabled the date-based archives WordPress SEO. Now it\'s fixed.
Glad you found it helpful!
