I've been a big fan of Opera Software's web browser for years. I started using it shortly after it came out in the 1990s. I even had the delight of meeting some of the staff in Oslo during a visit I made to Norway.
Opera continues to get better and better. Like any browser, it's not perfect -- but it IS fast.
And now the folks at Opera are taking their marketing in a new and humorous direction with the debut of the Norwegian "brothers", Odd and Even Johansen, who are here to show you that the browser is faster than...boiling a potato. And the Brothers Johansen even have their own blog.
It's actually a reply to a video that Google Chrome did about their brower's relationship to potatoes.
It's all in good fun with plenty of Norwegian humor. Perfect for a Favorites on Friday.
By the way, this week Norway was host to the 55th annual Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. More than 120 million people are expected to tune into the finals tomorrow -- making it the most watched television program in history.
